There’s an App for that! Bracket Mode from Cogitap Software (iTunes Link) Enables a form of Auto Exposure Bracketing on your iPhone. Put simply, you point and shoot and it’ll capture two exposures, one covering the dark ranges and one covering the light ranges.

Making the Olympus EPL-1 great for the HDR community

Monday, August 16th, 2010

The Olympus EPL-1 is a superb pocket-able camera, that produces best of class photos (and even surpassing some DSLRs). Albeit it suffers from one fatal flaw that prevents it from being adopted in the field of HDR photography.

Let me start by saying that I absolutely and unconditionally love this camera, and have done since the moment I touched it. Not only is it’s image quality superb, it’s usability is great for beginners and people who know how to use a camera (I’m looking at you Sony). I was disappointed when I found this flaw, my feelings compelled me to find a way around around this problem. As I’ve spent some time with the camera, I’ve grown to love it even more and can’t bear the thought of having to give it up. However as I’ve yet to find a satisfactory solution, the bigger DSLR is seeming more like my only option.

Saturday, June 12th, 2010

While we’re still working hard on Fun Photo 2.0 we’ve also been working hard on a Professional version of our ever popular HDRtist. New HDRtist or Improved FREE HDR Mac Software

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

Today we’re very pleased to announce the latest release of HDRtist. Version 1.1 adds the #1 requested feature, which is Image Alignment. We’ve tapped into align_image_stack, a very powerful automatic image alignment tool. Simply click the “Align Photos” button and HDRtist will automatically figure out and align the images for you. This means that HDR’s taken without a tripod can now be used in HDRtist, making the whole HDR photo taking process simpler.

The update weighs in at 5.5 mb compressed and can be downloaded by clicking on the following link.
