Monday, October 5th, 2009

storeVintageHDR600For this tutorial we’re going to be making a vintage looking photo, but this time we’re going to using an HDR photo. If you didn’t know, HDR stands for High Dynamic Range. It’s a fairly recent method of photography and it can produce some amazingly wonderful results. So why would anyone want to make an HDR image, look old? Why not. HDR can be used to bring out the detail that you never thought was there and this in turn can make a Vintage photo look amazing! Do you want to see what I mean?

Funtastic New Gallery Frame or make your photo look like it’s in an art gallery.

Saturday, August 22nd, 2009

Frame with texture Every once in a while we’ll get an idea for a new frame we’d like to see, or a customer’ll request a new frame. In this sense it was us, while walking around art galleries, we thought it would be fun if you could easily place your photos into an art gallery!

We’ll now you can, we’ve created this one of a kind, high quality frame that’ll allow you to do just that, to make your favorite photos look like they’re in an art gallery! We’ve even included an adoring spectator (or is she a contemplating spectator?).

Two New Frames for Download

Tuesday, July 21st, 2009

Dirty Metal ExampleWith the latest release of Funtastic Photos we created some new borders, we’re so proud of these designs, but found that they were too big in file size to include in the Funtastic Photos bundle. So we’ve posted them here for all to download.

Simply download the files, let them decompress and then double click them and Funtastic Photos’ll automatically place into the correct place.

The dog used is a 10 year old flatcoat retriever called “Hiza”. She loves chasing rabbits, even though she’s incapable of catching them. She wasn’t harmed in the making of these pictures.

Photo Mosaic Posters and Funtastic Photos

Picture Collage (20) Today’s tutorial is from Funtastic Photos user Eric Goldstein. Eric wrote to us, to share how he printed a massive 24×36″ photo mosaic poster of his son.

1) Select the right background size (24X36 if you’re going to print it poster size – smaller or larger if you want to go there). I made a mistake on this because when I originally did it, I let the picture drive the size of the canvas which created a 32X24″ poster. It’s fine, but there are no pre made frames at 32X24 so it was more expensive to frame it. If was to do it again, I’d make sure it was 24X36 so I could use a standard frame.

Coloring Book Images

Monday, June 8th, 2009

sany0119Perusing MacUpdate today and I stumble across a neat little application that’ll take your digital photos and make them into line art suitable for young’uns to color in with crayons/pencils/paint… As I looked at the example image, I realized that this can be done in Funtastic Photos. I spent a few minutes messing around and voila! I created a 1-Click Style to turn a photo into a black and white line art picture that can be colored in. I’ve attached the 1-Click Style to this blog, it’s a free download for all Funtastic Photos users (including the trial version). If you want to see how it’s done, download the 1-Click Style, install it, apply it to a photo and then open the “Advanced Options” panel.
