How to view more camera and photo information than iPhoto will show you.

iPhoto is a great photo organization tool, in-fact it’s actually the one I currently prefer. However sometimes it’s terrible for reading the information of a photo.

First attempt I tried “Get Info” from the “File” menu, it displays me a map where I can enter the name of the place the photo was taken and a small description… Not what I’m after.

Next I tried clicking on the “i” button in the bottom left corner, it shows me some information… Not as much as I’d like…

I want to know what camera was used and the camera settings (such as ISO, exposure time, f number…). Finally I found it under “Extended Photo Info” in the “Photo” menu… Still it’s a bit limited.

The picture information viewer in Fun Photos will show you everything that it can think off. Here’s how to use it.

  1. Open Fun Photos (Get the FREE trial).
  2. Use the browser and navigate to the same photo, click once on the photo.
  3. Select “Get Info” from the file menu or use the Toolbar button.

Wow… look at all that information, so much more information. I can see all the camera settings, even the aspect ratio of the picture and what megapixels it is! I never knew that my camera was using 180 dpi. With Funtastic Photos I can see what white balance settings I was using.
