Accessing Aperture and iPhoto from within our products.

Aperture integration is a common request for our products and we’re working on making a nice easy and comfortable solution.

In the mean time, if you want to access your Aperture or iPhoto library within our software, you can simply use the “Open” menu from the “File” menu. With Mac OS X Leopard (10.5) and Snow Leopard (10.6), Apple built iPhoto & Aperture integration into the “Open” dialog.

  1. Select “Open” from the “File” menu or click on the button to open the “Open” dialog.
  2. Open Dialog, showing iPhoto. Click for a larger view

  3. In the left hand side of the dialog (the blue area), scroll to the bottom and you’ll see a “PHOTO” option, Click on it.
  4. In the right side of the dialog, it’ll now list your iPhoto & Aperture libraries, click on either and then you can navigate through your libraries and choose the photo you want. Some dialogs allow you to multi-select photos, simply hold down the Apple or Command key when you do so.

Nice tip. As soon as you fix it so you can use Funtastic Photos as an external editor in Aperture, then I’m sold! Thanks for making a great product. :-)
