Tip: How to move and scale within a border
A couple of people have written to us and asked if we can add a feature that would allow them to move and scale the image within a border. Well it occurred to me the other day, that the feature is already there within Funtastic Photos!
So today, I’m going to reveal how it can be done with all versions of Funtastic Photos. It uses the effect “Scale Layer”, and it’s important that the effect is higher up in the list than the borders effect. So open up the photo you want to use into Funtastic Photos and then make sure you can see the advanced options. They’re a long list of options on the right hand side of the window, if they’re not visible go and click on the “Advanced Options” button on the right hand side and the advanced options should slide into view.
Above is my image, I’ve already located the borders effect and used it to add a border of my choice. Next I’ll go find the “Scale Layer” effect. once I’ve found it I’ll click on it to select and enable this effect. Nothing will happen until you drag the slider, for this purpose will drag the slider east wards or to the right. and you’ll see the picture zooming in.
For mine I’ve got it set to about 3/4 of the scale, it’s zoomed in alright but this girl’s been decapitated… not good in my professional opinion. To move the image down so we can see her lovely face, we simple take the mouse and click on the photo and drag it down… Woot!

There we have it, we’ve now zoomed in and moved the photo around. There is another way to do this and that is to use the crop tool.
