Color iPhone Tutorial
Today I’m going to post a tutorial to illustrate how you can use Funtastic Photos to achieve this really cool effect. I’ve seen it done where people have used cameras, but I thought I’d modernize it using the Apple iPhone. I know the iPhone and camera phones in general don’t make great cameras, but its amazing to see the amount of people who use camera phones instead of digital cameras.
First you need to take an image, a landscape orientation will work best. Open the image in Funtastic Photos. To make the image fit the iPhone screen, we need to crop it to 3:2, use the crop tool and select ’3:2 Slightly Wider Photo’, crop to the most interesting part of the photo. Once cropped, switch to the Bottom layer (if you cannot see the bottom layer button, click on the ‘Advanced Options’ button. Enable the ‘Greyscale’ effect and choose the mode you like the best, next enable the overlay effect and click on the ‘Select Picture’ button. Now you need to select the image file ‘iPhoneCameraHand.jp2′ [Click Here To Download iPhoneCameraHand.jp2], then use the scale to get the iPhone to a size your happy with, you can also click and drag the iPhone and hand to move their position.
Click on the ‘Top Layer’ and change the blending mode from Normal to Screen (Blending mode is under the ‘Top Layer’ button). All you need to do now is to use the ‘Scale Layer’ effect and reduce the size of the top layer till it fits within the iPhone screen. You can use the mouse to position the image so that it is within the iPhone Screen.
Thats it, Have fun and you can post your completed version over at the Funtastic Photos Flickr Group. [Click Here To Visit The Funtastic Photos Flickr Group]
