Why can't I open images from my camera in your software?

The first thing to try is to use Apple's Software update to make sure that you have the latest version of Apple's Image IO Kit.

The simple answer is because we use Apple's Image IO Kit to open images. It does a tremendous job of opening and saving a wide variety of image file formats. However sometimes Apple's Image IO Kit doesn't know how to read that image file. Basically if Apple's Image IO Kit cannot, then our products cannot.
